The Department of Government Enablement in Abu Dhabi has launched a comprehensive training programme, AiNative, aimed at building the digital capabilities of all government employees while making its skills accessible to the public. The department is implementing the initiative in partnership with leading global technology partners, including OpenAI, Microsoft and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. The programme aims to train around 20,000 government employees before the end of this year as part of the emirate’s comprehensive digital transformation plan.

The programme is intended to strengthen the use of digital competitiveness tools in everyday government services and ensure the management of sensitive data in line with the latest cybersecurity standards. Official sources said the initiative began as a pilot programme at several government entities before its formal rollout across all administrative sectors and institutions. It aims to improve government performance and reduce the time required to deliver services to customers across various departments.

The strategic project forms part of Abu Dhabi’s Digital Strategy, which seeks to establish the world’s first fully AI-powered government. The programme’s launch coincides with the expanding integration of smart technologies across education, healthcare, transport and navigation. Technology experts say the move reinforces the UAE’s position as a regional and international hub for innovation and advanced AI solutions.
