Federal National Council debates new laws to advance government services and digital transformation

The Federal National Council held its regular session to discuss and approve a package of federal legislation and laws aimed at meeting the demands of the digital age and improving government performance. Members reviewed reports by parliamentary committees on updating regulations governing sectors including the economy, education and infrastructure. The legislative measures form part of ongoing efforts to create a flexible and attractive legal environment that supports the UAE's comprehensive development.

Parliamentary discussions focused on the importance of integrating artificial intelligence technologies and cybersecurity across service sectors to ensure the delivery of proactive, high-quality government services. Government representatives said close co-operation between the legislative and executive branches was the cornerstone of successful national strategies. The proposals would help improve the capabilities of national talent and strengthen institutions' readiness for the future of sustainable government work.

The council's Secretariat-General is following up on parliamentary recommendations in co-ordination with ministries and relevant authorities to ensure they are translated into policies and programmes that can be implemented on the ground. This institutional co-ordination reflects the UAE's leading democratic model, which places citizens' interests and quality of life at the centre of national priorities. Legislative institutions continue to update their legal frameworks to ensure the country remains among the world's most flexible and competitive nations.
